The Time a User Claimed Their Keyboard Was Haunted Because Letters Typed Themselves

A regular Tuesday morning took an unexpected turn when a user submitted a curious helpdesk ticket that immediately caught my attention. The message read: “My keyboard is haunted. Letters keep typing themselves, making weird words, and I’m scared to use it.”

Intrigued, I called the user to get more details. She explained that while working on a document, she suddenly noticed random letters popping up on her screen without her touching the keys. Words like “boo,” “ghost,” and “help” appeared sporadically, and sometimes entire sentences seemed to form on their own. She was convinced her keyboard was possessed by some mischievous spirit.

After reassuring her that technology rarely mingles with the supernatural, I asked for a demonstration. She held up the keyboard via video chat, and we watched as random letters appeared. But then, a quick glance revealed the culprit: her cat, comfortably lounging on her desk, was batting at the keyboard with its paws whenever she wasn’t looking.

I explained that the “letters typing themselves” were actually caused by her feline friend’s playful interruptions. We even joked about naming the cat “Ghostwriter.” The user was relieved and amused, thanking me for solving what she initially feared was a haunted computer mystery.

Sometimes, the weirdest ticket turns out to be less paranormal and more pet-related!
